Spatial Spiritual Discernment

Have you ever walked into a park, building, or a room and felt the hair stand up on the back of your neck? Have you ever felt a strong sense of dread fall on you like you walked into a pool of yuck?

This story is all about discovering and discerning that “YUCK” feeling. God was showing me that Ephesians 6:12 is real. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
On the night this story takes place, He taught me, through my kids’ vision and prayer, How MIGHTY and POWERFUL He is and that He wants to partner with me in prayer to bring Heaven to Earth to dispel the agents of evil and that He will protect me.

Experiencing Heaven’s Power at Valley Fair

Watching the power that is given to me (and all believers) as a Child of God play out in front of me is always crazy amazing. The Lord had been teaching me about how to pray His blessings over people to change situations. I had only been praying this way for my family, but as I encountered a situation at Valley Fair I wondered if praying a blessing over a couple I did not know would have an immediate impact. It DID!
However, the enemy was not happy with me and tried to intimidate me to stop praying. His tactics had the opposite effect. It brought me closer to God and a testimony I will never forget.

Our new home is a total fixer upper. Every surface needs to be redone. Before we bought this home, we asked the Lord what we should do if something unexpected happens. I GOT A JOB! The process to get there had God’s had ALL over it. He even gave me a very specific prophetic word about COVID-19 that wasn’t on anyone’s radar yet. It gave me HOPE that the Lord saw my future and I was in line for His blessings, even when it got difficult. Check out my story of HOPE.

My Sick Puppy

God cares about what we care about! I cared deeply about my first pet, Bella, a sweet Vizsla. On occasion she would get sick, but would always get better within a day. This instance was different. Our regular vet didn’t know what was wrong with her. On my way to the specialty vet, I asked God a lot of questions. His answers told me what would happen next and radically changed how I interact with God. He taught me to keep asking Him questions, that intimacy with Him is ALWAYS His primary goal. James 4:8 says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” He is a Good, Good Father who steps into all of our situations, if we ask Him to.

May God Be Glorified

The 17-18 Viking season had me praying a different way. As a Viking’s fan, well, basically as any Minnesota sports fan, it can be pretty disappointing. So, Instead of praying for them to win, I asked the Lord to be glorified in the outcome, no matter what it was. This might sound silly, but it completely changed my view of sports and the Lord taught me about our relationship in the process, as I listened to His voice. Find out what happened in my next post.

Doctor Before Disney

My dream trip for my family was about to happen and just days before, I found it, the lump. This lump had the potential to be the train wreck that sabotaged my vacation. I was able to ask Jesus for help and He stepped up in a BIG way. He orchestrated each step and used my imagination to calm my fears and teach me about what was happening around me. Find out how He can do the same for you because He is a God that is in the business of “doing it again.” (Hebrews 13:8, Rev 19:10)
